CONCOR shares touched a day high of Rs 423.20 on Thursday after the company placed a Rs 485.93 crore order for 24 freight wagon rakes.
Container Corporation of India Limited told exchanges it has ordered the wagons from Braithwaite & Co Ltd, a government company under the Ministry of Railways.
The price is Rs 485.93 crore, including GST. The order covers 24 rakes of BLSS wagons fitted with brake vans.
A rake is a full train set of wagons, and BLSS wagons carry containers, which sit at the heart of CONCOR’s rail freight business. Braithwaite has until 20 June 2028 to deliver them.
CONCOR said the order is domestic, that its promoters and group companies have no interest in Braithwaite, and that the deal is not a related-party transaction.
It made the disclosure under Regulation 30 of SEBI’s listing rules. This is not its only wagon purchase lately.
In September, CONCOR placed a Rs 89.09 crore order for 12 rakes with the Jamalpur Locomotive Workshop of Eastern Railway.
On 6 October, it ordered another 12 rakes for Rs 87.15 crore from the Golden Rock Workshop of Southern Railway.
Another update is close. CONCOR’s board meets on 2 November to consider financial results.
CONCOR shares closed at Rs 421.05 on the NSE on Thursday, up Rs 3.05 or 0.73% from the previous close of Rs 418.00. The stock is still down 19.69% so far this year.
