Shares of Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Limited, a leading fan and residential pump manufacturer, turned green on Thursday, 12 June, after the company announced that it had received a Letter of Award from the Maharashtra Energy Development Agency (MEDA) for the supply and installation of 4,500 off-grid solar photovoltaic water pumping systems across Maharashtra.
The contract, worth Rs 100.68 crore minus GST, goes under Component B of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s (MNRE) PM-KUSUM plan.
According to the deal, Crompton will be in charge of the systems’ design, production, supply, transportation, installation, testing, and commissioning at several locations throughout the state. The project must be completed within 90 days after the date of the work order.
Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals reported a 22.5% YoY increase in net profit to Rs 169.5 crore for the fourth quarter ended 31 March 2025, up from Rs 138.4 crore in Q4FY24.
Revenue from operations rose by 5.1% YoY to Rs 2,060.6 crore from Rs 1,961 crore. EBITDA increased by 29.9% to Rs 264.4 crore from Rs 203.6 crore last year. This resulted in an increase in the EBITDA margin to 12.8% from 10.4%.
Crompton Greaves reported an 11% YoY rise in revenue from its electrical consumer durables (ECD) division in fiscal year FY25, driven by growth in pumps and appliances. The company generated Rs 737 crore in operating cash during the fiscal year.
In Q4FY25, the ECD segment grew by 6% YoY, led by pumps and appliances, with an EBIT margin of 16.7%. The company launched its in-house BLDC and induction platforms, Nucleus and X-Tech, using a ‘platform-first strategy.’
