DCM Shriram Shares Gain 1% on Nod to Acquire Hindusthan Speciality Chemicals

Shares of DCM Shriram Ltd were trading in the green and 1% higher on 13 June after the Board of Directors approved Definitive Agreements to acquire 100% equity share capital of Hindusthan Speciality Chemicals Limited for Rs 375 crore in one or more tranches, subject to adjustments as per the terms of the Definitive Agreements.

In an exchange filing, DCM Shriram said, “We hereby inform you that the Board of Directors of the Company at its meeting held today, 12 June, 2025 has, inter alia, approved Definitive Agreements to be entered into for acquiring 100 per cent equity share capital of “Hindusthan Speciality Chemicals Limited”, having presence in Epoxy & Advanced Materials business in Bharuch, Gujarat, subject to necessary regulatory approvals.”

The acquisition also represented the entry of DCM Shriram’s chemicals business into the Epoxy & Advanced Materials area as a downstream integration of Epichlorohydrin.

DCM Shriram also announced that the acquisition is scheduled to be completed by September 2025, subject to the fulfilment of the conditions outlined in the Definitive Agreements.

DCM Shriram is a diverse Indian corporation with a rich history dating back to 1889.  It engages in several industries, including agriculture, chemicals, and value-added enterprises. 

The company’s portfolio includes the manufacturing of urea, sugar, ethanol, and agriculture inputs, as well as major industrial chemicals such as caustic soda, chlorine, and PVC resin. 
 
DCM Shriram is a prominent player in the agri-rural sector and one of India’s biggest sugar producers. It is also heavily involved in renewable energy programs such as green power and ethanol manufacturing.

In its value-added division, the company operates Fenesta Building Systems, which provides high-quality UPVC and aluminium windows and doors.

However, at 11:51 am, the shares of DCM Shriram were trading 0.47% lower at Rs 1,119.80 on NSE.
