DHFL Defaults Rs 8.07 Crore Bond Repayments

DHFL again defaulted on bond repayments to the tune of Rs 8.07 crore on July 23, according to an exchange filing. DHFL is a Beleaguered housing finance company. 
For 3 years, the company on July 23, 2019, defaulted on ‘8.84 per cent, secured non-convertible debenture (NCD) with a total default amount of Rs 8.07 crore, said DHFL in a regulatory filing on Wednesday.
The face value of Rs 6.30 crore was the total amount of securities issued. The National Housing Bank has imposed a fine of Rs 5,000, the company said in a separate filing. The fine was imposed as the housing sector regulator found DHFL to be deficient with regard to adherence to the regulations on Approval of Acquisition or Transfer of Control directions of NHB, concerning the change in the directorship of the company, it added.

DHFL said, “The penalty levied by NHB is in the normal course of business of the company and shall have no impact on any business or other activities of the company”.
