Disney will build its seventh theme park in the UAE, specifically on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, which is already a hub for top attractions like Ferrari World and SeaWorld.
Abu Dhabi-based Miral will develop the resort, while Disney will handle the design, license its characters, and provide management services, but won’t invest capital.
As outlined in a regulatory filing, Disney will earn royalties and service fees based on the park’s revenues.
The announcement comes ahead of a visit by US President Donald Trump, who is expected to discuss business deals in the UAE and other Gulf nations.
The project aims to tap into the 120 million airline passengers that flow through Abu Dhabi and Dubai annually, making it a strategic tourist magnet.
A specific opening date hasn’t been announced yet, but Disney’s stock surged over 9% after the news and strong second-quarter earnings.
