The sales of domestic passenger cars rose 17.47 percent to 162, 022 units in July from 137, 922 units in the same period last year.

According to a data released by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), last month the motorcycle sales declined 6.36 percent to 808, 332 units from 863,188 units a year earlier.

The total sales of two wheeler in July rose 0.14 percent to 1,300,457 units.

SIAM said, Sales of total commercial vehicles rose 8.41 percent to 51,795 units in July.
