Enterprise AI startup Ema has raised $77 million in a Series B funding round led by Bengaluru-based venture capital firm Creaegis, as it looks to expand its AI employee platform into more global markets.
Existing investors Accel, S32 and Prosus also participated in the round, taking Emaβs total funding to around $140 million.
Founded in 2023 by former Coinbase chief product officer Surojit Chatterjee and former Okta executive Souvik Sen, Ema develops what it calls βAI Employeesβ. These systems use multiple AI agents to plan and execute business processes across functions such as human resources, IT and finance.
The platform connects with more than 250 business applications and systems used by enterprises. Its AI Employees can carry out multi-step tasks, check their own work and route sensitive decisions to human employees when approval is required. The company counts Wipro, Hitachi, ADP and PwC among its customers.
Ema said its technology is already being used at production scale rather than only in pilot projects. According to the company, it has grown revenue 50 times over the past 24 months, while customers often expand their use of the platform across multiple business functions. Ema has more than 50 active enterprise deals and over 1 million active enterprise users.
The fresh capital will primarily support Emaβs go-to-market expansion, including sales and marketing, while the company continues investing in its AI platform. It also plans to expand into new regions, with Asia-Pacific and Europe, Middle East and Africa among the key markets.
Ema currently has nearly 200 employees and operates from offices in Bengaluru, London and Vancouver. It has so far focused mainly on customers in the US and Europe, but plans to broaden its presence across additional international markets.
The funding comes as enterprises increasingly shift from experimenting with generative AI to deploying agentic systems that can complete business processes. Ema is positioning its platform as an alternative to traditional software tools by allowing AI systems to execute work across applications that companies already use.
With the latest funding, Ema will focus on scaling these deployments and expanding its global customer base as competition in enterprise AI intensifies.
