On Monday, Essar Projects said that a USD 1.57 billion order has been received by its joint venture with Italy’s Saipem from Kuwait National Petroleum Co (KNPC) to set up Al-Zour Refinery in Kuwait.

The company said in a statement that this is Dubai headquartered EPC company Essar Projects’ largest third party contract in the region swelling its order book to USD 2.8 billion.

With the crude processing capacity of 6,15,000 barrels per day (bpd), the new refinery project at Al Zour is Kuwait’s biggest development project.
