Exports in December Rise to $23.8 Billion

India in December month exported goods of $23.8 billion, which is a 36.2 per cent increase, according to the data of the Commerce Ministry. Export of items, except for petroleum oil and lubricants, boosted over 28.08 per cent during the same period of 2021, 2020 and 2019. The exports grew over 4x to $7.36 billion in the third week of December.


“The value of export is $23.82 billion, which is increased by 36.20 per cent over the same period of 2020-21 ($17.49 billion) and by 27.70 per cent in the same period of 2019-20 ($18.65 billion),” the Commerce Ministry said. The speed of growth in exports was slower in November. However, Exports growth declined to 26.49 per cent in November from 43.05 per cent from the previous month. India wants to achieve an exports target of $400 billion in the current fiscal year and has nearly gained two-thirds of its annual export target in the period of April to November.
