Foxconn Unit to Invest $200 Million in The State of Tamil Nadu

A Foxconn subsidiary is in talks to invest $200 million in the state of Tamil Nadu to build a net plant for electronic components in the southern region of the state.

CEO of Foxconn Industrial Internet, Brand Cheng and other company representatives met Tamil Nadu officials, including its chief minister, to discuss investments in the state last week.

Foxconn Industrial Internet makes communication, cloud computing, and mobile network components. It has shared its plan with state officials to invest $180 – 200 million in the facility initially.

The company has already spread its campus near Chennai city in Tamil Nadu, where it assembles Apple’s iPhone.

Foxconn plans to complete the plant by 2024, with further investment plans afterwards.

Foxconn is also in talks with western Gujarat state as it eyes entry into India’s semiconductor sector.
