France Plans To Push Investment Ties With South India


Ambassador of France to India, Emmanuel Lenain will pay an official visit to Chennai, on December 7 to 8, aimed at strengthening economic and investment cooperation.
France shares a close and long-standing relationship with Tamil Nadu which includes deep cultural and people-to-people ties in particular between the state and France’s Reunion Island.
Tamil Nadu has emerged as a hub of French trade and investments in India with more than 140 French firms. French firms provide in lots of precedence sectors corresponding to the car, healthcare, business, virtual applied sciences, services, and products, or power.
Despite the pandemic, they have persisted in investing in Tamil Nadu, with vital tasks corresponding to Engine’s 250 MW wind energy plant in Tuticorin and General’s new LPG plant in Coimbatore. To replicate this rising partnership, France decided in 2017 to open a Bureau de France in Chennai whose challenge is to spice up cooperation, exchanges, and mobility, together with that of scholars, between France and Tamil Nadu.
Through this discussion, Lenain will meet the Leader Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru Edappadi K. Palaniswami. The talks will center attention on how France and French firms can proceed to contribute to Tamil Nadu’s bold building objectives within the spaces of business, R&D, and renewable power.
Lenain can even dangle talks with Tamil Nadu’s Minister for Trade, Thiru M.C. Sampath, and take part within the signing rite of a memorandum of figuring out between Business Steering and Export Promotion Bureau of Tamil Nadu and the Indo-French Chamber of Trade and Trade.
