GK Energy shares touched a day high of Rs 144.35 on the NSE after winning a Rs 454.5 crore rooftop solar project across 1 lakh households.
Under this empanelment, GK Energy will install 1,00,000 grid connected rooftop solar systems of 1 kW each, adding up to 100 MW of total capacity.
Each of these systems will be set up at a separate household, meaning the rollout spans a full 1 lakh homes.
The contract works out to Rs 45,450 per kW including GST, taking the total order value to around Rs 454.5 crore. The scope isn’t limited to installation either.
GK Energy will also handle the design, engineering, supply, testing and commissioning of these systems, along with five years of operation and maintenance once they’re live.
Work orders under this empanelment need to be completed within 60 days of being issued.
The company has also clarified that this isn’t a related party transaction, and neither the promoters nor promoter group companies have any stake in the contract.
This win comes on the back of a strong quarter. GK Energy’s consolidated net profit rose 54% year on year to Rs 57 crore in Q1 FY27, up from Rs 37 crore a year earlier.
Revenue grew 55.4% to Rs 505 crore. EBITDA increased 44% to Rs 82.4 crore, though the EBITDA margin slipped slightly to 16.3% from 17.6% last year.
The stock has now gained for four straight sessions and is up over 26% in the last six months. That said, it’s still trading well below its 52 week high of Rs 239.60, down more than 41% from that peak.
As 14:37 pm, GK Energy shares were at Rs 141.06 on the NSE, up 5.41% for the day.
