The Goa government will launch a scheme under which three free cooking gas cylinders will be provided to those Below Poverty Line (BPL) by the end of June, Rural Development Minister Govind Goode said on Monday. The offer of free LPG cylinders was part of the ruling BJP’s poll manifesto, he said.
In the second phase, the scheme will cover households with gross annual income below Rs 400,000. Gaude said the scheme would cover 37,000 BPL households and funds would be deposited directly into their bank accounts by the end of the current financial year.
