Google Cloud Launches New Cloud Region in India

Google Cloud launched a new cloud region at Delhi NCR on Thursday to assist customers, including the public sector in India and the Asia Pacific. This new region is India’s second Google Cloud region after Mumbai and the tenth in the Asia Pacific region. Google Cloud CEO Thomas Crian said some media instructions require a second cloud region in India for capacity building, disaster recovery solutions, and low latency demand.

Global cloud computing firms are rapidly expanding their footsteps in India to ride the wave of digital transformation accelerated by the coronavirus pandemic. Last year, Amazon Web Services (AWS) invested $ 2.77 billion to set up a second cloud support region in Hyderabad.

“This new region allows Google Cloud customers operating in India to benefit from low latency and high performance for cloud-based workloads and data. They are designed for high availability. The region begins with three Availability Zones to protect against service interruptions. It offers a portfolio of key products such as Compute Engine, App Engine, Google Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Bigtable, Cloud Spanner, and BigQuery. ” Google Cloud says. In the statement.

The Delhi NCR Cloud Region will help companies in regulated industries with high requirements for disaster recovery solutions. “Customers can build private connections through interconnects and support existing partners and the region,” the company said. “We are focusing on helping Indian companies accelerate their digital transformation and deepen their commitment to digitalisation and economic recovery in India, slowly recovering from the crisis of the last 18 months. The Google Cloud Region helps our customers adapt,” Bikram Singh Bedi, Managing Director of Google Cloud India, said.
