Today, the government said that for the purpose of checking the rising price of pulses, it will import lentils in large quantities to boost supply and asked the states to take action against hoarders.
The prices of pulses have risen up to 64 percent in the last one year.
Food and Consumer Affairs Minister Ram Vilas Paswan said, “The government is very serious on rising pulses prices. There has been less production of pulses. We will import pulses whatever quantity is required.”
He also added that “We have asked state governments to take action against hoarders.”
