HDFC Bank Quarterly Report for Q2; Advances Jump 57%

Post-merger, the bank reported its highest home loan disbursal at Rs 48,000 crore.

The country’s largest private sector bank, HDFC Bank, on 4 October, announced its quarterly report for the July-September quarter.

The bank reported strong growth with a 57.7% YoY increase in its advances to Rs 23.54 lakh crore from the Rs 14.93 lakh crore reported in the year-ago quarter.

HDFC Bank also notified the exchanges that post-merger, the bank reported its highest home loan disbursal at Rs 48,000 crore.

The deposits saw a 29.9% YoY increase at Rs 21.73 lakh crore in Q2FY24 against the Rs 16.73 lakh crore reported in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year.

On the advances front, the bank retail loans increased by 111.5% YoY, commercial and rural banking loans saw an increase of 29.5% YoY, and corporate and other wholesale loans grew by 8% YoY.

The bank’s CASA (current account and savings account) deposit grew by 7.6% to Rs 8.17 lakh crore against the Rs 7.59 lakh crore reported in Q2FY23. The CASA ratio stood at 37.6% against 45.4% last year.
