Hexaware Technologies shares touched a day high of Rs 584.50 on the NSE on Thursday after expanding its AI skilling partnership with upGrad.

Hexaware and upGrad Enterprise said on Thursday they’re deepening a partnership that started out narrower, focused mainly on training Hexaware’s own staff.

The two firms had already worked together on GenAI upskilling and had set up an internal programme called the Agentic AI Academy. That relationship looks different now.

Rather than just building AI skills inside Hexaware, upGrad becomes the company’s preferred partner for taking AI training straight to Hexaware’s clients worldwide.

Both firms plan to work jointly on sales and delivery for enterprise customers instead of running this as a vendor arrangement.

The expanded offering covers role-based AI training for technical and business teams, innovation labs for senior leaders, and a coding centre where engineers can experiment with new tools.

There’s also a plan for rapid prototyping sessions built around real business problems clients bring to the table.

Hexaware CEO R. Srikrishna said enterprise AI adoption is often held back by execution capacity, not ambition. He pointed to the need for architecture, engineering and business teams working off one shared plan. There’s already a real example behind the pitch.

Back in March, the two companies ran a three day AI training programme for senior executives and engineering managers at a major banking client, something they point to as proof of rising demand for these skills in financial services.

By 12:10 pm on Thursday, Hexaware shares were trading at Rs 577.25 on the NSE, up 1.82% for the day.
