IAF Formally Inducts Rafale in its Arsenal

On July 27, the five Rafale aircraft arrived at Ambala Air Force Station which has been formally inducted to Indian Air Force’s 17 Squadron’ Golden Arrows’ on Thursday at Air Force Station in Ambala. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and his French counterpart Florence Parly, Bipin Rawat (Chief of Defence Staff General), Marshal RKS Bhadauria (Air Chief), Ajay Kumar (Defence Secretary) attended the ceremony.

Some of the highlights Rafale Induction Ceremony:

  • France is committed to supporting India for permanent membership in UN Security Council, said French minister.
  • The responsibilities of India are not restricted to our borders, but we play a responsible role in the entire Indo Pacific and the Indian Ocean Region. 
  • In recent days, induction Rafale is most important given the Kind situation that has been created on our border, said by Defence Minister.
  • Rafale Induction is a historic occasion and shows close India French ties: Defence Minister.
  • This induction could not have happened at a more reasonable time considering the security scenario today: Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria.
  • The Indian Air Force (IAF) on Thursday formally inducted the much talked about the fourth-generation flying machine, Rafale in its arsenal.
  • IAF’s Sarang helicopter display team is performing aerobatic manoeuvres.
