Solinas Integrity, an IIT Madras-incubated robotics startup, has raised $5.5 million (around Rs 48 crore) in a Series A1 funding round to expand its technology for inspecting and maintaining underground water and wastewater infrastructure.

The round was led by Hero Enterprise Partner Ventures and Mela Ventures, with participation from Luthra Group and existing investors.

Founded in 2018 by Divanshu Kumar and Moinak Banerjee, Solinas uses robotics and artificial intelligence to inspect, clean and monitor underground pipelines. Its technology helps identify problems such as leaks, blockages and damage without requiring people to enter potentially dangerous spaces.

The company plans to use the fresh capital to expand its operations across India and enter more states and municipal corporations. It also intends to build a stronger international presence, with the Middle East and Southeast Asia identified as key markets for expansion.

Solinas has been developing solutions for water and sanitation infrastructure while also working on industrial asset management. Its approach combines physical robots with AI-based systems that can help organisations understand the condition of underground infrastructure and plan maintenance more efficiently.

The latest funding round also saw continued support from existing backers, including SBI Ventures, Rainmatter and 8X Ventures Fund I, with SBI Ventures increasing its investment. This signals continued investor confidence in the company’s business model and the wider opportunity in climate-focused technology.

Solinas is targeting Rs 100 crore in revenue by FY28, driven by growth in its water and sanitation business and its industrial asset management operations. With fresh funding and plans to expand both domestically and overseas, the startup is looking to make robotics a bigger part of how cities manage critical water infrastructure.
