Shares of Indiabulls Housing Finance witnessed the biggest single-day gain since June 4, 2021, after a Rs 40.8 crore block deal on September 13.

The home loan provider witnessed 22.5 lakh shares, amounting to nearly 0.5% of the total equity, change hands on the exchange in a large transaction worth Rs 40.8 crore. The buyers and sellers are yet to be ascertained.

A total of 4.5 crore shares of the company were traded on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) combined, compared to 2.7 crore shares on Tuesday.

Shares of Indiabulls Housing closed at Rs 189.30, 12.75% higher than the previous closing price on the NSE. The scrip touched an intraday high of Rs 191, surging nearly 13.7%. 

The stock emerged as the top gainer in the Nifty 500 index. The stock ended a 4-day losing streak on Wednesday, recovering all losses of the prior session.
