The Aviation company IndiGo on 3 November announced its quarterly earnings for the July-September quarter.

InterGlobe Aviation, the operator of low-cost airline IndiGo, reported a net profit of Rs 188.9 crore for the quarter under review from Rs 1,583.33 crore net loss reported in the year-ago quarter.

The company’s revenue from operation was at Rs 14,943 crore, which is a 19.5% year-on-year (YoY) increase from Rs 12,497 crore reported in the same quarter last year. The increase in revenue was led by a sharp increase in domestic travel during the quarter, as the demand for domestic travel within the country has continued to increase for the past 3 quarters.

Pieter Elbers, the company’s Chief Executive Officer, said, “We continued to augment our network both domestically and internationally as we added 10 new destinations in the past few months, taking the total number of destinations to 115 as of today.”

The revenue from tickets saw an increase of 17.6% YoY to Rs 13,069 crore, and ancillary revenue saw a 20.5% YoY increase to Rs 155.1 crore during Q2FY24.

The company’s EBITDAR (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, amortisation and rent cost) came at Rs 2,436.4 crore.

The total debt of the company rose by 20.6% YoY to Rs 49,391.7 crore during the quarter, whereas its total cash saw a significant increase of 56% to Rs 30,665.8 crore, including Rs 18,082.7 crore of free cash.

The company has a total of 334 aircraft in its fleet as of 30 September.
