Infosys Declares Rs 26 Dividend as Q2 Profit Rises 6.2%

Infosys Ltd
Revenue grew to Rs 49,244 crore from Rs 44,490 crore. Operating margin held at 21%.

Infosys stock touched a high of ₹1,197.80 and closed at ₹1,153.80 on Oct 23, ahead of a 6.2% Q2 profit rise and a ₹26 dividend payout.

The results came after trading hours. Infosys told exchanges that profit for the July to September quarter rose 6.2% to Rs 7,823 crore, against Rs 7,364 crore a year ago.

Revenue grew to Rs 49,244 crore from Rs 44,490 crore. Operating margin held at 21%. The board also approved an interim dividend of Rs 26 per share.

Investors must own the stock by the 3 November record date, and Infosys will pay it by 11 November.

The payout will cost the company about Rs 10,531 crore, excluding treasury shares.

That is higher than the Rs 23 interim payout last year. The previous dividend, Rs 25 per share, had a 10 June record date.

Big contracts drove the quarter. Infosys won large deals worth $5.2 billion, and 62% of that came from new business. One mega deal alone crossed $2 billion.

Crocs signed a 10-year deal. Mondelez International and Telia also worked with the firm on AI-linked projects, while Investec chose Finacle, the company’s banking platform, for its digital banking overhaul.

AI work is growing fast. It made up 10.5% of revenue, up from 8.2% in the June quarter, and AI revenue grew 29% quarter on quarter.

CEO Salil Parekh said that growth shows clients trust the company’s AI offering.

The firm added 4,480 staff on a net basis, taking headcount to 3,32,542. Voluntary attrition eased to 12.7% from 13% in the last quarter.

Infosys now expects FY27 revenue growth of 1% to 2% in constant currency, trimmed from the 1.5% to 3% range it gave in July.

The operating margin target stays at 20% to 22%. CFO Jayesh Sanghrajka said cost control kept margins steady in a volatile quarter.

On NSE, Infosys stock closed at Rs 1,153.80, up Rs 0.45 or 0.04% from the previous close of Rs 1,153.35.
