Infosys Dividend Announces Final Dividend, Murthy Family to Receive Rs 265 Crore

Share prices of Infosys rallied up over 2% after the news of a major deal with a pre-existing client worth $2 billion for more than 5 years.

Infosys, India’s second-largest software services company, has announced its final dividend for the financial year ending March 31, 2023, at Rs 17.50 per equity share. The company has set the record date for the payment on June 2, 2023, and the dividend payment is scheduled for July 3, 2023.

The company has already paid an interim dividend of Rs 16.50 per share. The final dividend will increase the total dividend for the year to Rs 34 per share, representing a 9.7% increase over the previous year. Infosys has declared a total dividend of Rs 14,200 crore for FY23.

According to the shareholding pattern, the founders of Infosys, Narayana Murthy and his family members, hold 4.15% of the company and would earn Rs 264.17 crore in dividend payouts. Narayana Murthy’s daughter and UK PM Rishi Sunak’s Wife, Akshata Murty, who owns 1.07% of Infosys’s paid-up capital, will earn a dividend of Rs 68.17 crores if she holds her shares until the record date. Narayana Murthy and his wife will receive Rs 29.12 crore and Rs 60.46 crore, respectively, while their son Rohan Murty will get Rs 106.42 crore in dividend income.

Infosys has completed a share buyback and has proposed a final dividend of Rs 17.50 for FY23, following its capital allocation policy. Including the recently concluded buyback and final dividend for FY23, the company has returned 86% of free cash flow to shareholders under the current capital allocation policy.
