Inox Green Pays Rs 550 Cr for Wind World India O&M Business

Inox Green Energy Services spends ₹550 crore to acquire Wind World India's wind power maintenance business

Inox Green Energy Services spends ₹550 crore to acquire Wind World India’s wind power maintenance business, covering around 4.5 GW capacity.

The payment came on 6 October through Vibhav Energy Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of the company.

Inox Green told exchanges about it in a filing on 7 October. The seller is Wind World (India) Limited, which has been going through insolvency proceedings. This is a deal for service work, not for turbines.

Operations and maintenance, or O&M, means keeping wind turbines running, fixing faults and making sure they keep producing power.

Wind farm owners pay specialist firms for this. The business reported revenue of about Rs 580 crore in FY26.

Its clients include the Tata Group, ReNew, Greenko Group, Apraava Energy and Hindustan Zinc, and its turbines sit across seven states, including Karnataka, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu.

Inox Green said its contracts carry a yearly price rise of roughly 5%. Inox Green put in Rs 450 crore of the total.

Rs 250 crore went in as fresh equity, and Rs 200 crore went in as a loan to its own subsidiary, with Rs 50 crore of that set to turn into shares later.

Authum Investment & Infrastructure Limited supplied the remaining Rs 100 crore, also as a loan that will convert into shares at a future date. The handover is not final yet.

It will be complete once certain conditions in the business transfer agreement are met, the filing said.

The road here started in court. On 27 July, the National Company Law Tribunal in Ahmedabad approved a resolution plan for Wind World, put forward by a group of Inox Neo Energies and Authum.

Inox Green was later picked to take over the O&M arm. The time allowed to finish the transfer was set to run out on 1 October, so the committee overseeing the plan extended it to 8 October.

Because Vibhav belongs entirely to Inox Green, the company treated the investment as a related party transaction.

It said the deal was done at arm’s length and that no promoter or group company has any interest in it.

Inox Green also said no government or regulatory approval is needed. Vibhav, set up in 2017, has reported no turnover in the last three years.

The company said its O&M portfolio stood at about 13.3 GWp in June 2026, counting Wind World’s assets and a separate 2 GW portfolio it holds as an investment. It aims to cross 20 GW in the near future.
