Sebi,capital market regulator allows Real Estate Investment Trusts(REITs) and Infrastructure Investment Trusts(InvITs) to acquire funds by issuing debt securities to attract more investors.

REITs and InvITs, listed on National stock exchanges will be given this facility. This amendment has been made by Sebi to facilitate growth of such trusts.

So far, only 2 InvITs-IRB InvIT Fund and Indiagrid Trust has been listed on the stock exchanges in country and not even a single REIT have been listed,despite various earlier relaxtions.
