On 26th May, Iran said it would not agree to suspend uranium enrichment temporarily to reach a nuclear deal with the US.

The Iranian foreign ministry clarified that no date has been fixed yet for the next round of talks. Iran firmly rejected reports suggesting it might freeze enrichment for three years or accept an interim deal.

President Trump said the US had “very good” talks with Iranian negotiators over the weekend. Iran is waiting to hear from mediator Oman on when the next talks may happen.

Iran said it remains open to talks if the US shows goodwill, but it won’t compromise on its rights.
