ITC Beats HDFC to Become 7th Largest Firm by M-cap, Share Soars

ITC surpassed HDFC's m-cap to become the seventh most valuable listed company.

ITC has beaten HDFC to become the seventh largest company by market capitalisation. This was revealed a day after the firm entered the list of companies with a 5 trillion market capitalisation. On Friday, the stock price of the FMCG major touched its 52-week high of Rs 405.50.

When ITC shares were trading at their 52-week high levels at Rs 405.5 on the Bombay Stock Exchange, its market capitalisation augmented to Rs 5.04 trillion. On the contrary, shares of HDFC are trading 0.05% higher at Rs 2743.30 per share, and the company’s market capitalisation outlook is at Rs 5.03 trillion.

The balanced gains made by the ITC shares have facilitated the company in entering into the Rs 5 trillion market capitalisation club. A day ago, the stock also touched and recorded its fresh all-time high of Rs 402.65 on the National Stock Exchange, only to break its record and trade at Rs 405.50 per share on Friday.
