Japan’s Apparel Retailer Uniqlo to Start Online Delivery in India

On Tuesday, Japanese apparel retailer Uniqlo said that it will now also offer home delivery services, a year after it opened stores in India.
“With this service we hope to provide more customers with iconic UNIQLO items like HEATTECH and Fleece jacket along with essential items like AIRism through our website to support their lives in this new normal. We will be delivering to people in more than 17,000 pin codes across the country,” said in a statement Tohomiko Sei, CEO, UNIQLO India.
However, due to the disruptions caused by the pandemic shoppers had avoided stepping out for buying goods, instead they are preferring to shop online and get deliveries at their door-step.
The retailer has opened four stores in Delhi-NCR, with another one scheduled to open in Noida later this year. Last year in October, it has opened its maiden store in India and India is among first few markets to get home delivery services a year into its market debut.
Uniqlo is one of the top apparel retailers worldwide and operates in nearly close to around 2,200 stores in about 25 markets.
