JetSetGo Signs $1.3 Billion Deal with 3 Aviation Tech Firms for 280 Hybrid-electric Aircraft

JetSetGo signed deals with global aviation tech firms for 280 hybrid-electric aircraft worth over $1.3 billion.

JetSetGo has signed deals with three global aviation tech firms for 280 hybrid-electric aircraft, including 130 on option, worth over $1.3 billion with Electra.aero, Horizon Aircraft and Overair.

JetSetGo unveiled the strategic collaboration at the ongoing mega aviation event Wings India 2024 in Hyderabad. The company said that these planes can be deployed for airport transfers, regional connectivity, inter-city commutes, intra-city shuttles and urban air taxis.

According to the agreements, the private aviation company is set to acquire 150 aircraft for an aggregate value of $780 million. The agreements also include further options to acquire an additional 130 aircraft to scale the fleet size to 280, raising the overall deal value above $1.3 billion.

The new deal will help JetSetGo innovate and scale its air mobility solutions. The company said that Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) utilises new aviation technologies like electric and hybrid-electric propulsion to enable air taxi-style services for short-distance travel between and within cities.

Founder and CEO Kanika Tekriwal said that the partnership with these three aviation tech companies will introduce unique technologies like hybrid and electric propulsion, ‘blown lift’ and ‘fan-in-wing’ lift systems and super-quiet optimal speed tilt rotors to India.

The company’s analysis concludes that the three AAM aircraft designs selected offer an optimal mix for five identified use cases: airport transfers, regional connectivity, intercity commute, intracity shuttles and urban air taxis.
