JSW Energy Soars After Q2 PAT to Rs 466 Crore

JSW Energy rose more than 6% after its second-quarter results.

On a consolidated basis, JSW Energy hit a high of 5.25% to Rs 334.55 after the net profit of the company surged 37.3% to Rs 465.67 crore on a 14.4% rise in revenue from operations to Rs 2,387.48 crore in the second quarter of FY23 over the second quarter of FY22.


During the second quarter of FY23, the profit before tax declined marginally to Rs 604.68 crore compared with Rs 606.56 crore posted in Q2FY22.


Also, total revenue increased by 16% on a yearly basis to Rs 2,596 crore from Rs 2,237 crore reported in the second quarter of FY22.


EBITDA for the quarter was higher by 2% year on year at Rs 1,098 crore compared with Rs 1,080 crore reported in Q2FY22. Finance cost rose 7% on a yearly basis to Rs 204 crore. Additionally, borrowings are due to ongoing growth Capex. The weighted average cost of debt increased by 7 bps to 7.94% QoQ.


Consolidated net worth was Rs 17,593 and consolidated net debt Rs 7,874 crore, resulting in a net debt to equity ratio of 0.45x and net debt/TTM EBITDA of 1.77x.
