JSW Steel Ltd Signs Multiple Consecutive Voyage Contracts with “K” Line Group

JSW Steel Ltd, India’s one of the largest steel makers, has signed multiple mid-long terms CVCs with Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. (“K” LINE) and “K” Line (India) Shipping Private Ltd., (KLISP) affiliated company of “K” LINE. The steel giant has signed these contracts for Capesized tonnage & Supramax-sized tonnage.
“K” LINE (INDIA) SHIPPING PRIVATE LIMITED has been operating both Indian coastal and international trade as far as Supramax cargo vessels are concerned. However, for Capesize ships, this is the first time in history that Capesized tonnage performs Indian coastal trade under mid-long term CVCs. Consequently, the annual transport volume for JSW Steel touches 10 million tons from existing contracts and these new CVCs.
“K” Line (India) Private Limited (KLIN) was founded with a Joint Venture partnership in 2008 to expand businesses in India. Today KLIN handles “K” LINE group’s bulk carrier operations from India. KLISP was later established in 2014 as an Indian-flagged ship-owning company.
With this contract, the ‘K’ LINE group further strengthens relations with JSW Steel, making it one of India’s most strategic business partners.
“K” LINE, in its medium-term management plan, defined the Iron Ore carrier business as one of the top priority areas for enabling growth and seeking prospects for strengthening customer coverage and relationship for the Drybulk business in Asia.
“K” LINE group aims to fulfil customers’ increasing transport demands simultaneously, address carbon emissions issues, and ensure decarbonization for the sustainable growth of business and the development of society.
