Jubilant FoodWorks Q2 Revenue Up 12%, Profit Falls

Jubilant FoodWorks
Jubilant FoodWorks surges as the Domino's operator reported 11.8% higher consolidated Q2 revenue.

Jubilant FoodWorks shares hit a day high of Rs 457.20 on Friday, as the Domino’s operator reported 11.8% higher consolidated Q2 revenue.

The company filed its July to September results with the exchanges at about 3:20 pm on 6 November, roughly 10 minutes before trading ended.

A call with analysts was set for 5 pm. Group sales came in at Rs 2,607.9 crore, up 11.8% from a year ago.

Domino’s India, its biggest business, saw sales rise 4.1% at stores that were open in both periods.

Size helped too. The group added 108 net stores during the quarter and now runs 3,820 outlets.

Profit tells a less cheerful story. Reported consolidated profit fell to Rs 111.59 crore from Rs 194.6 crore a year earlier.

Before one-off items, profit from continuing businesses was almost flat, up 0.5% at Rs 113.9 crore. The reason is simple. Costs grew faster than sales.

Operating profit rose 7.3% to Rs 513.1 crore, which is slower than the sales growth.

Out of every Rs 100 of sales, about Rs 19.70 was left as operating profit, compared with Rs 20.50 last year.

For comparison, the June quarter brought in revenue of Rs 2,569.7 crore, so the latest quarter was about Rs 39 crore higher.

Over the first six months of the year, group revenue stood at Rs 5,215.4 crore.

Shareholders also received a dividend of Rs 1.20 per share earlier this year, with 17 July as the record date.

The stock closed at Rs 457.20 on NSE, up Rs 0.70 or 0.15% from the previous close of Rs 456.50.

NSE data shows the shares up 8.37% over the past week but down 21.61% over one year.
