Jupiter Wagons shares hit a day high of Rs 197.88, up 3%, after the company won a Rs 61 crore order from Balmer Lawrie for three rakes.
The order came in on 3 November, and the company disclosed it in a filing under SEBI’s disclosure rules.
The order is worth about Rs 61 crore, taxes included. It covers three railway rakes and a brake van.
A rake is a full train set of goods wagons, and these are of the BFNS22.9T type.
The brake van is a special coach that runs at the end of a goods train. None of the reports gives a delivery date.
Jupiter Wagons makes railway wagons. Its corporate office is on Taratala Road in Kolkata, and its registered office is in Jabalpur.
This order is smaller than some of its recent wins. The Ministry of Railways has given the company a Rs 1,140 crore contract for 2,583 wagons.
Jupiter Wagons also won orders worth over Rs 324 crore from GATX India and Chetak International for 15 rakes of car carrier wagons, plus a Rs 211 crore deal with JSW Port Logistics and Orissa Alloy Steel for seven rakes and other specialised wagons.
Jupiter Wagons shares closed at Rs 197.04 on NSE, up by 2.53% from that previous close.
About 14.48 lakh shares, worth Rs 28.15 crore, changed hands during the day. The stock has gained 8.98% over the past week.
It’s still down 41.47% in 2026 and about 45% below its 52-week high of Rs 358.25 from 23 December 2025. The company’s market value is Rs 8,420.91 crore.
