Kabul Airport Attack Hits 60 Afghans, 13 US Troops

Two suicide bombers and gunmen attacked crowds of Afghans rushing to Kabul’s airport on Thursday. The attacks killed almost 60 Afghans and 13 US troops, Afghan and US officials said. The US general managing the evacuation said the attacks would not stop the US from moving out Americans and others. ISIS claimed for the attack on its Amaq news channel. The IS affiliate in Afghanistan is very dangerous than the Taliban. The Taliban were not assumed to be involved in the attacks and sentenced the blasts.

In a heartfelt speech from the White House, US President Joe Biden said the latest bloodshed would not make the US push out of Afghanistan earlier than scheduled and that he had ordered the US military to make plans to strike IS. “We will not forgive. We will not forget. We will hunt you down and make you pay,” Biden said. US officials said 11 Marines and 1 Navy medic were among those who died. Eighteen service members were injured, and officials warned the number could increase. More than 140 Afghans were hurt, an Afghan official said.
