Kalpataru Projects Wins Rs 2,225 Cr Transmission Orders

Kalpataru Projects
Kalpataru Projects surges after the firm won Rs 2,225 crore of new transmission orders.

Kalpataru Projects International shares hit a day high of Rs 1,443 on 13 October after the firm won Rs 2,225 crore of new transmission orders.

The company told exchanges the same morning that it has secured about Rs 2,031 crore of fresh work in its power transmission and distribution business.

That business builds the lines and substations that carry electricity from power plants to homes and factories.

The Rs 2,031 crore covers new orders and a letter of comfort, an early assurance of work from a customer. The projects span India and overseas markets.

A second win came from Sweden. Linjemontage i GrΓ€storp AB, Kalpataru’s subsidiary there, landed a contract worth about Rs 194 crore, or 200 million Swedish krona.

Together, the two announcements add up to Rs 2,225 crore. The Swedish customer is Ellevio AB, and it picked Linjemontage through a public tender.

The job is to refurbish and expand a 130 kV substation in RepbΓ€cken, BorlΓ€nge. A substation steps electricity up or down so it can travel safely over the grid. This project aims to add capacity and backup to the local network.

The contract is turnkey, so Kalpataru handles the whole package, from foundations and civil work to installation, testing and commissioning.

Work will run for three years, with a final inspection set for 15 October 2029.

Managing director and CEO Manish Mohnot said heavy spending on transmission networks, grid expansion and renewable energy links in India and abroad is supporting order inflows.

So far this financial year, Kalpataru has bagged orders worth around Rs 20,000 crore. That is up more than 30% from a year earlier.

At 13:18 pm on 13 October, the stock traded at Rs 1,417.90 on NSE, down Rs 0.20 or 0.01% from the previous close of Rs 1,418.10.

It opened at Rs 1,442.90 and fell to a low of Rs 1,392.50 during the session. The stock has gained 17.94% so far this year, and its 52-week high is Rs 1,490.
