Shares of KEC International gained over 4% on October 26 after the company secured turnkey orders worth Rs 2,872 crore from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL). 

The contracts mark the largest-ever order win for the company’s domestic transmission and distribution (T&D) business, strengthening its position in India’s power infrastructure sector. 

The scope of these contracts cover the design, supply and installation of 765 kV transmission lines. These projects will help transmit 8.5 GW of renewable energy from Gujarat to the power grid, supporting India’s growing clean energy capacity.

KEC International’s Managing Director and CEO, Vimal Kejriwal, said the orders have significantly expanded the company’s domestic T&D order book. These projects highlight the rising need for transmission infrastructure as India continues to grow its renewable energy capacity.

With the latest wins, KEC International’s year-to-date order intake has crossed Rs 13,500 crore, including around Rs 9,500 crore from its T&D business.

On October 23, the company had also won orders worth Rs 1,006 crore across its T&D (transmission and distribution), civil construction, and cables and conductors businesses. Earlier in October, it announced additional order wins across its transmission and other business segments. 

The latest contracts improve KEC International’s order visibility and strengthen its presence in India’s power transmission market. Continued investment in electricity networks and renewable energy evacuation could support future demand for its services.

At 12:49 pm, the shares of KEC International were trading 1.92% higher at Rs 334.05 on NSE.
