Larsen and Toubro Bags Order up to Rs 2,500 Crore

L&T Heavy Engineering has won 'significant' orders in the domestic and international markets.

Infrastructure major Larsen and Toubro on July 25 announced that it had bagged orders amounting from Rs 1,000 crore to Rs 2,500 crore in the power transmission and distribution segments from India and abroad.

Larsen and Toubro is a $23 billion company engaged in engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) projects, hi-tech manufacturing, and services and has operations in over 50 countries worldwide.

“L&T Construction wins significant orders for its power transmission and distribution business,” the company said.

Domestic Orders
The company has won an order to implement SCADA/DMS and other related IT infrastructure for central Gujarat’s urban area power distribution systems.

The company won another order in Jharkhand to build a 400kV double-circuit transmission line.

Abroad Orders
The company has received an order to construct a High Voltage Direct Current (HCDC) transmission segment in the Middle East. This link is part of a large Voltage Source Converter (VSC) based HVDC system connecting Yanuba City and Neom Industrial City in western Saudi Arabia.

In the Sarawak region of Malaysia, the company has bagged an order in a consortium to set up a 275kV substation.

The company is yet to disclose the exact order value. Still, according to the company’s project classification, the order ranges from Rs 1,000 to 2,500 crore.
