Shares of Lemon Tree Hotels Limited were trading in the green and 1% higher on 28 October after the company announced that it has signed a license agreement for a new 76-room hotel in Sirhind, Punjab, strengthening its presence in the state.
The property will be managed by Carnation Hotels Private Limited, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of the company.
The upcoming Lemon Tree Hotel, Sirhind, will feature 76 rooms along with a restaurant, banquet hall, meeting and conference rooms, swimming pool, spa and fitness centre. These facilities are expected to help the property serve different types of guests, including business travellers, tourists, families and visitors travelling for religious purposes.
Sirhind is located in the historic Fatehgarh Sahib district and is known for its religious and cultural importance. Its connectivity to Chandigarh and nearby commercial centres makes it a potential destination for both leisure and business travel.
The hotel will be approximately 3.5 km from Sirhind Junction and around 45 km from Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport in Chandigarh. The new property adds to Lemon Tree Hotels’ growing presence in Punjab. According to the company, it already operates four hotels in the state, with another 10 properties in the pipeline.
The expansion reflects the company’s strategy of entering locations that offer opportunities across business travel, religious tourism and leisure stays.
The Sirhind agreement supports Lemon Tree Hotels’ long-term expansion plans and broadens its presence in a destination with established tourism demand. However, the financial impact will depend on the hotel’s opening timeline, occupancy levels and room rates.
At 12:05 pm, the shares of Lemon Tree Hotels were trading 0.53% higher at Rs 107.09 on NSE.
