Less Than 1% of Teens Registers For Vaccination in India: CoWin

Less than 1 per cent of the 15 to 18 age group have registered for Covid-19 vaccination. Till 9 p.m. on Sunday, 721,521 eligible teens had registered for getting the Covid-19 vaccine dose, according to the data on the CoWin dashboard. According to state-wise statistics that the health ministry gave to states, there is 7,40,57,000 tennis of 15 to 18 year age group who are eligible to take the vaccine.


PM Narendra Modi had announced the vaccination of kids aged 15 to 18 years and a booster dose for healthcare and frontline workers and senior citizens over 60 years of age. The registration in the 15-18 year age group started on CoWin on Saturday, and Other platforms like Aarogya Setu will offer the same services. As per the health ministry data, the maximum beneficiaries in the 15-18 age group are in Uttar Pradesh at 1,40,14,000, then Bihar at 83,46,000, Maharashtra at 60 lakh, West Bengal and Madhya Pradesh at 48 lakh.
