Lightspeed India Raises $500 Million for India and Southeast Asia

Venture capital firm Lightspeed announced Tuesday that it had raised $500 million for India and Southeast Asia as the company deepened its commitment to the region.

This is part of the $7 billion raised by the fund company. Lightspeed joins a handful of fund firms with slow funding cycles.

Lightspeed’s fourth fund, which has been investing in India since 2007, has a hard cap of $500 million.

A hard cap means the company doesn’t want to raise additional capital. It is also one of the largest funds dedicated to India and Southeast Asia.

Over the past five years, the firm has grown to 28 professionals across four locations, representing one of the most significant risk advisory teams in the region.
