L&T shares rose as much as 4% to a day high of ₹3,978.20 on Wednesday after its energy arm won a major EPC order from Kuwait Oil Company.
The order has gone to L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Onshore, the company’s oil and gas construction arm.
It covers building the Jurassic Light Oil export facilities for KOC and upgrading Kuwait’s existing crude export network.
L&T has classified the win as “Major,” a band the company uses for contracts worth between ₹5,000 crore and ₹10,000 crore, without disclosing the exact figure.
That title carries a lot of engineering weight. To handle higher volumes, L&T will construct six new 618,000-barrel crude oil storage tanks, set up new pipelines, and modernize Kuwait’s infrastructure for loading petroleum.
The entire project runs on a lump sum turnkey basis, meaning L&T takes full responsibility for design, procurement and construction at a fixed price.
E S Sathyanarayanan, who heads this business at L&T, called it an important investment in Kuwait’s energy sector and said the company is committed to delivering it to global standards.
This isn’t L&T’s only large order in recent months. Just weeks earlier, in the April to June quarter, the company had bagged a roughly ₹10,000 crore contract from JSW Steel.
Even while there is no precise figure associated with the Kuwait contract, L&T has added a sizable amount of new business to its order book this year between the two.
The company’s broader revenue base has expanded alongside these wins, climbing from around ₹1.59 lakh crore in FY22 to nearly ₹2.93 lakh crore in FY26.
As of 11:21 am on NSE, L&T was trading at ₹3,942.90, up 2.89% or ₹110.90 from the previous close of ₹3,832.
