L&T Technology Services Shares Gain Over Collaboration with NVIDIA to Boost Medical Imaging Using Gen AI

LTTS to collaborate with NVIDIA to boost medical imaging in endoscopy by developing advanced architectures.

L&T Technology Services (LTTS) witnessed a 2.36% surge in shares after announcing a strategic collaboration with NVIDIA to revolutionise medical imaging in endoscopy by developing Gen AI and advanced software-defined architectures.

The Vadodara-based IT company shared that the collaboration focuses on creating software-defined architectures tailored for endoscopy, aiming to elevate image quality and scalability.

Following the announcement, L&T Technology Services’ shares rose 2.36% to reach an intraday high of Rs 4559.90 apiece. At 3 pm, the stock was trading 1.75% higher at Rs 4,531.55 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE).

The collaborative effort introduces a scalable platform with real-time decision-making capabilities specifically designed for the medical industry. The software-defined architecture aims to enhance image quality and scalability for medical devices.

Key features of the architecture include an image processing pipeline addressing noise reduction, edge and contrast enhancement, texture and colour improvement, and speckle correction. These elements contribute to improved visualisation, particularly in polyp detection and classification, and support AI-based decision-making.

The solution leverages NVIDIA Holoscan and NVIDIA IGX Orin platforms, offering low-latency data transfer and superior image processing and addressing industry-wide challenges related to hardware dependencies and costs.

Shanker Trivedi, Senior Vice President of Enterprise Business at NVIDIA, highlighted, “The combination of LTTS’ expertise in medical device development and NVIDIA’s full-stack edge AI computing platform offers value to the medical technology industry by expediting the development of AI-enabled, software-defined medical devices.”
