Shares of L&T Technology Services (LTTS) rose over 3% on 26 October after the company secured a five-year agreement with Nokia to support its engineering and R&D (research and development) operations in India.
Under the agreement, LTTS will support Nokia’s R&D programmes across product engineering, software development, system integration and product support. Under the partnership, both companies will follow an integrated working model, collaborating with Nokia’s global R&D teams
The financial details of the said agreement have not been disclosed yet. However, the five-year duration provides LTTS with an opportunity to build a long-term working relationship with the telecom technology company.
LTTS will establish a dedicated Offshore Development Center (ODC) in India to support Nokia’s engineering and R&D work. It will also create a specialised engineering team to support Nokia’s global Technology Center.
The work will cover several technology areas, including 5G networks, intelligent automation, AI-driven operations and artificial intelligence infrastructure. The partnership will also include embedded systems, new product development and ongoing engineering support.
The deal aligns with LTTS’ Lakshya 31 strategy, particularly its focus on next-generation computing and AI infrastructure. The collaboration comes as these technologies gain importance in the development of next-generation communication networks and advanced data centres.
The agreement strengthens LTTS’ presence in telecom engineering and deep-tech services. Investors will watch how the partnership contributes to the company’s future business growth, although the undisclosed contract value makes its direct financial impact difficult to assess at this stage.
At 12:05 pm, the shares of LTTS were trading 3.02% higher at Rs 4,028.50 on NSE.
