Mafatlal Signs MoU to Supply Air Force Combat Uniform Fabric

Mafatlal Industries
Mafatlal also commissioned a 4 MWp (megawatt-peak) solar power plant at its Nadiad facility.

Mafatlal Industries said on October 16 it signed an MoU to supply combat uniform fabric to the Air Force Wives Welfare Association (Local).

The fabric will go to Air Force Station New Delhi. It has to meet the size, colour and manufacturing standards the Indian Air Force has laid down.

An MoU is a written understanding between two parties about what each will do.

The company filed the details with the stock exchanges under SEBI’s Regulation 30 rules, but it did not share a deal value, quantity or delivery timeline. Details are thin.

Mafatlal said the agreement fits its long-term plan to grow in integrated uniform solutions.

In simple terms, it wants to be a one-stop supplier of uniforms, from fabric to design to the finished garment.

Mafatlal is the lead company of the Arvind Mafatlal Group. Its roots go back over 120 years.

Its uniform business covers fabric, design and manufacturing for schools, corporates, hospitals, manufacturers and hotels, in India and overseas.

Beyond cloth, it runs a health and hygiene division that sells adult and baby care products.

It has also moved into digital infrastructure and consumer durables, so uniforms are now one business among several.

The latest quarterly numbers give some background. For April to June, the first quarter of FY27, Mafatlal’s revenue from operations was around Rs 943 crore.

That was up about 6.6% from the previous quarter but roughly 24% lower than a year earlier. Net profit fell to Rs 14.68 crore, down about 68% on the year.

Its confirmed order book stood at Rs 890 crore on 30 June. That figure predates the MoU.

On 20 July, Mafatlal also commissioned a 4 MWp (megawatt-peak) solar power plant at its Nadiad facility to generate electricity for its own use.

The company’s board will meet on 4 November to take up the results for the September quarter, the first set of numbers since this announcement.
