Mahindra & Mahindra Profit Down 4.5% QoQ, Revenue Up 12%

Mahindra & Mahindra reported on May 28 that standalone net profit fell 4.5% quarter-on-quarter to Rs 1,292 crore in the March quarter.


Compared to a year ago, when profit was impacted by a special charge of Rs 753 crore, it was up more than five times or 427%; without the charge, it would have reached Rs 998 crore, while profit for the quarter would have increased by 17%.


The Mumbai-based automaker’s standalone revenue rose 12% quarter-on-quarter to Rs 17,124 crore. Each year, they both grow at a rate of 28.4%.


Standalone PAT excluding special items rose 401.5% to Rs 4,935 crore for the full year, April-March 2022, compared to profit excluding special items of Rs 9.84 crore in the previous year. Excluding special items in FY22, profit rose 26.4% to Rs 5,144 crore from Rs 4,071 crore in the last fiscal year.


FY22 standalone revenue rose 28.7% to Rs 57,446 crore. On a consolidated basis, PAT for the quarter rose 47.8% year-on-year to Rs 2,237 crore. Profit increased by 12.6% sequentially.


Consolidated revenue for the quarter rose 21% year-on-year to Rs 25,934 crore. A month-on-month increase of 10%.
