The concept of unified cells is the core element of Volkswagen’s battery strategy.

On Monday, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, Driven by strong demand for its sports utility vehicles (SUV), reported its highest ever monthly wholesales of 64,486 units in September, a two-fold jump comparatively to its year-ago period. The India-based auto-vehicle manufacturer dispatched 28,112 passenger and commercial vehicles in both international and domestic markets in September 2021.

The previous month, the company reported its highest ever monthly sales of sports utility vehicles at 34,262 units, compared to September 2021. In an interview, Veejay Nakar, President of Mahindra (Automotive Division), informed that in terms of overall volumes as well as the SUV dispatches, September has turned out to be a record month for the company.

Addressing the positive growth, Nakar stated that even in the thick of Covid-19, when the passenger vehicle industry declined, SUVs had reported a single-digit growth. Compared to the previous year, the company’s segment has grown well, showing a growth of around 40 per cent.

Nakar Further added that Mahindra’s SUVs like XUV700, Bolero Neo, Scorpio-N, Thar, and even Scorpio Classic had seen a robust response in the market. When asked about improved supplies and reduction of the waiting period, he said that the brands like Scorpio-N and Scorpio Classics are getting higher bookings than supply.
