Mankind Pharma Shares Gain 2% on Raising Stake in UK-Based Firm

The pharma major now holds a 10.19% stake in Actimed Therapeutics.

Shares of Mankind Pharma were trading in the green and 2% higher on 18 December after the company increased its stake by 1.29% in the UK-based Actimed Therapeutics for a total consideration of £999,900.

Post the acquisition, the pharma major now holds a 10.19% stake in Actimed Therapeutics. This is a strategic investment made by the company in the field of treatment of cancer cachexia, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, and other muscle-wasting disorders.

On 12 December, Chrys Capital divested its stake in the company, which was worth Rs 3,282 crore, through a block deal.

The shares were offloaded by Chrys Capital’s subsidiary, Beige Ltd, who sold 1.44 crore shares of the company for an average price of Rs 1,832.43 apiece in one deal and diluted another 25 lakh shares for an average price of Rs 1,832.3 per share in another deal.

At 3:30 pm, the shares of Mankind Pharma closed 1.46% higher at Rs 1,920.50 on NSE.
