Marine Electricals won new orders for a battery electric tug’s propulsion system and various power distribution systems.
One of the orders is for a battery electric tug, a harbour boat that runs on stored power instead of diesel.
Marine Electricals will supply the propulsion package, which is the motors and controls that move the vessel.
The remaining orders cover power distribution systems, the equipment that carries electricity from the main supply to the machines that use it.
The alert gave no order values, customer names or delivery timelines.
Those details matter, because they show how much revenue the work could add and when. The company has been winning work steadily.
On 5 October, it disclosed orders worth Rs 393.52 crore from clients including Web Werks, CtrlS Datacenters and Garden Reach Shipbuilders.
The projects cover power distribution and marine electrical work, with delivery running from four to 28 months.
In early September, it won a Rs 229.73 crore order from Digital Edge DC (India) for power distribution systems, due over 15 months.
In May, Adani Infra placed a Rs 206.23 crore order for power distribution systems, to be executed over 12 to 14 months.
The latest results show the growth behind this. In the July to September quarter, Marine Electricals reported revenue of Rs 404.6 crore, up 82.1% from a year ago.
Net profit rose about 93% to Rs 32.1 crore. Both figures come from its exchange filing on 4 November.
A market report also put the open order book at Rs 3,514 crore on 30 September, up 386% year on year.
An order book is the value of work already booked but not yet delivered.
Once the values and delivery dates for the new orders are disclosed, they will show how much more work the company has added to that pile.
