Maruti’s patent Suzuki, will entirely manufacture the next generation Swift at its manufacturing plant in Gujarat, for sale in India and abroad.
Currently, the Gujarat plant manufactures Baleno, that is retailed via Maruti’s premium retail channel Nexa. This addition of Swift to the production at Gujarat will help the company in achieving economies of scale and increase efficiencies of production planning.
Further, Suzuki’s first production line in Gujarat will have a Capacity of 1.5 lakh units annually by the end of this fiscal year and will attain the maximum limit of 2.5 lakh units by 2018-19.
