Mobile Services Restored in Kashmir

After the United Nation raised questions on clampdown that had been imposed in Kashmir, the Union home ministry has started restoring communication services in the Valley, starting on Wednesday evening.
In Jammu and Kashmir, only post-paid services have been activated for mobiles. Also, mobile connections of officials catering to essential services have also been activated, reports Livemint.
Most terrorist groups use pre-paid mobile SIM cards to communicate. Given the fact that Lashkar-e-Taiba has become active again in the Valley, the administration is being cautious for the welfare of the people, sources said.
All landline connection has been restored with the activation of telephone exchanges across the Valley, in last week. Moreover, Schools and government offices had resumed work a fortnight ago, but attendance in schools is very less.
“The attendance of teachers is around 75 per cent across schools but the attendance of students is still very less. We are working to ensure that no civilian is harmed when on their way to work or to attend school,” said another source.
